Create A Google Earth File With Google Maps

Some months ago I showed you how to open a kmz file with Google Maps. This time I will present the opposite procedure: how to create a kml file with Google Maps. Simply follow the steps below.

Update 3/7/2013: Due to some changes from Google the procedure below is NOT working anymore. See here for an alternative solution.
Procedure

1.    Open Google Maps on your browser and create a route.

2.    Click at the left to this page link.
3.    Copy the entire link.

4.    Open Notepad and paste the link (optional step). 
5.    At the end of the link add the “&output=kml”.

 6.    Paste the link (with the addition) to your browser address bar.

 7.    Press enter and then save the kml file whatever you want.

8.    Double click the file in order to open it with Google Earth.
