An Introduction To Pressure Vessels

Introduction

According to Wikipedia: “A pressure vessel is a closed container designed to hold gases or liquids at a pressure substantially different from the ambient pressure. Pressure vessels are used in a variety of applications in both industry and the private sector”. Due to the significant role of pressure vessels in many different (engineering) applications, I decided to prepare a short presentation that will introduce you to the world of pressure vessels. Without a doubt, such an enormous subject cannot be covered in a single presentation, but, at least, I hope that it scratches the surface on some important topics.

Contents

The presentation is divided into the following six parts:

  1. Definition
  2. Classification
  3. Main Components
  4. Materials
  5. Manufacturing Process
  6. Testing

Pressure vessels – presentation review

The presentation is in a widescreen format (16:9), so it contains enough information to fill 2 – 4 pages.

If you need a similar presentation on welding, you can check this one.
